- Assess need for technical training in the organization. Training needs may include support for technicians or all applicable company employees.
- Deliver OEM training to technicians or all applicable company employees.
- Obtain and maintain OEM certifications for all product lines available now and in the future.
- Plan training schedule for technical training courses offered at VTC.
- Travel between VTC locations to provide technical training courses.
- Enforces VTC policies and procedures including but not limited to OEM programs.
- Work and collaborate with Service Managers to schedule technicians’ training based on the locations.
- Environmental and safety compliance.
- Elite Support and manufacturer compliance.
- Assesses participants’ learning performance; identifies need for additional, specialized, or adaptive instruction.
- Maintains records of completed training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma required.
- Red Seal certification or equivalent in Heavy Duty Mechanic/Truck & Transport Technician (required).
- In-depth knowledge of OEM and vendor training requirements (especially DTNA and vendor structures).
- On-highway air brake endorsement (have or willing to obtain).
- Proven experience delivering engaging training presentations to diverse technical audiences.
- 1+ years of formal training experience in a dealership or manufacturer-based training role (preferred).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable with frequent changes.
- Physically able to perform tasks required for mobile training delivery, including prolonged standing, occasional lifting (up to 50+ lbs.), and equipment handling.
- Hands-on knowledge of Freightliner products and systems.
