The Project Manager supports project management activities for strategic air and space-related programs within the Chief of Air & Space Force Development (CASFD), Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). Working under the direction of senior project leadership, the incumbent plans, coordinates, and monitors project activities to ensure deliverables are met on time, within scope, and within budget. The role requires solid experience in technical and project-related documentation, effective communication with stakeholders, and proficiency with a range of project management tools and methodologies.Experience:Minimum one (1) year of experience writing or reviewing technical or project-related documentation (e.g., briefing notes, presentations, technical/engineering reports, assessments, requirements documentation, and analysis reports) for strategic air and space-related programs.Education:The Project Manager must hold, at a minimum, a Bachelor's degree from a recognized Canadian university in either Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or Social Science.If the degree was obtained outside Canada, an equivalency assessment from a recognized Canadian academic credentials assessment service is required.Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must hold, or have the ability to obtain, a Government of Canada Secret security clearance. This clearance must be maintained for the full duration of the contract and will be confirmed through the relevant security authority prior to contract award.Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination
  • Plan and coordinate project management activities, including financial, planning, and contracting aspects.
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of project personnel, internal customers, contractors, and other support providers.
  • Prepare formal work breakdown structures and compliance charts.
  • Produce draft plans and sections for incorporation into the Project Implementation Plan.
  • Prepare draft evaluation plans, criteria, and evaluation schedules.
  • Develop, plan, and analyze deliverables and requirements.
Team Direction & Delivery
  • Plan, direct, and control the activities of a project team within scheduled time and cost parameters.
  • Coordinate and direct CASFD project team(s) in order to meet project objectives for content, quality, costs, and schedules.
  • Work with a variety of project management tools to support planning and delivery.
Monitoring & Reporting
  • Monitor the design, implementation, and operations startup of the project against established goals, objectives, and milestones.
  • Report progress of the project on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle.
  • Provide briefings on project progress and concerns to management.
  • Prepare documentation in response to scheduled and unscheduled reports, returns, and observations to update management on project progress.
  • Ensure management staff is provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates.
  • Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned exercises.
Analysis & Documentation
  • Prepare plans, charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing or displaying problems.
  • Coordinate, draft, and prepare for signature formal project documents and reports.

Other Information· This is a Fixed Term, Full Time opportunity· Work will take place on DND premises within the National Capital Region (NCR). Telework arrangements, if any, are subject to DND policies and operational requirements. Occasional domestic travel may be required in support of CASFD project activities
