Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto)Description:The Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Sustainable Energy. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be appointed to one or more Departments in the Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, depending on their area of specialization.The successful candidate, upon formally accepting the offer of a full-time faculty position, would be nominated for the Lawson Chair in Sustainable Energy for a five-year term, which will be renewable following a favourable review. The successful candidate will contribute to building the university's expertise in sustainable energy. We are particularly interested in researchers that take a broad, cross-cutting approach to sustainable energy technologies, rather than focusing on a single solution.As an internationally recognized chair in Sustainable Energy, the candidate will play a critical role in the Lawson Climate Institute (LCI), working with the institute leadership to identify opportunities, set research priorities, generate impact by developing practical approaches to energy transition and achieve breakthroughs in sustainable energy.Candidates must hold a PhD in an area related to energy,and have a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. The Chair will be solution-focused and responsible for innovating and driving solutions that transform energy systems.We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance the existing strengths of the . - Collaborate with, and build, the community of LCI Scholars and Chairs
- Seek academia-industry-government coordination
- Grow the research capacity across the university in the area of sustainable energy
- Enable measurable outcomes for communities, industry, academia and government.
