
Psychometrist (Neuropsychological/Psychometric Testing)

- Receive work direction from a Psychologist, and conduct a series of standardized neuropsychological/psychometric tests to assess cognitive functioning, education level, learning difficulties, personality, quality of life and vocational interests.
- Provide psychologist with written and/or verbal summary of test results and the client's performance and behaviour to assist in diagnosis and treatment interventions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.
- Two years' direct neuropsychological/psychometric testing experience with a variety of clinical populations or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Eligible for certification with the Board of Certified Psychometrists.
- Basic knowledge of psychology assessment and treatment methods and tools.
- Basic knowledge of therapeutic, diagnostic and consultation techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately administer and score standardized tests.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Board of Certified Psychometrists professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice.
- Basic knowledge of adult education principles, methods and tools.
- Basic knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
- Basic knowledge of research process and methodology.
- Basic knowledge of evidence based psychological practice.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with, and deal effectively with, co-workers, clients and their families, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.

- General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including word-processing and database software.
