
Engineering Manager, Map Data

- Set the technical vision and strategy for Data Collection and the Fleetview program.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners to understand needs and requirements.
- Work with your engineers and stakeholders to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long term goals.
- Maintain a balance between building sustainable, high-impact projects and efficient delivery.
- Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team's code, architecture, and processes.
- Coach and guide the professional and technical development of your team members.
- Manage partnership with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds.
- BS/MS or equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams, ideally with experience in frontend tooling.
- Strong proficiency in both backend (Python, Go, Java, or C++) and frontend (JavaScript, React.js) technologies, and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
- Previous experience dealing with data pipelines, ETL, and geospatial databases (PostGIS, BigQuery, etc.).
- Proven ability to contribute to technical planning and design discussions.
- Extensive experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated success in building motivated teams with a strong sense of ownership and driving projects to completion.
- Experience in building and scaling products to meet evolving company needs.
- Experience in geo-visualization, GIS tools, mapping infrastructure, or related fields.
- Familiarity with front-end mapping libraries (Mapbox, Leaflet, Cesium, etc.)
