Context:We are looking to strengthen our Environmental team in Ontario and are looking for an Air Quality Specialist to join the growing team. Missions/Main Duties:
  • Review of previously completed investigations and reporting.
  • Identify data gaps and commitments.
  • Development of the scope and schedule related to their specialty.
  • Lead the subject matter team tasked to complete investigations work and reporting.
  • Incorporation of requirements into design.
  • Confirmation that requirements and commitments are executed.
  • Performs air quality assessments for construction and operational phases.
  • Model emissions from traffic changes, construction equipment, and transit operations.
  • Recommend mitigation measures such as dust control and emissions management.
  • Develops air quality EMP. Supports regulatory submissions and environmental documentation.
Profile/Skills:
  • a minimum of 7 years of direct work-related experience;
  • P. Eng
  • a bachelor or advanced degree from a recognized university with specialization in chemical, civil or environmental engineering;
  • experience in predicting the greenhouse gas emission implications of transportation alternatives; experience in designing and evaluating appropriate air quality impact mitigation for transportation projects;
  • experience utilizing scientifically approved dispersion models, such as AERMOD, CAL4HQC and CAL3HQCR, and vehicle emission model, such as MOVES;
  • experience in the determination of existing ambient air quality and exceedances in ambient air quality criteria prescribed by municipal, provincial and/or national standards;
  • experience in Air Quality Sensitive Receptor identification, assessment of impacts, and the identification of mitigation measures;
  • understanding of federal, Ontario and municipal laws and regulations as they pertain to air quality;
  • and ability to liaise with other specialty consultants, contractors and Governmental Authorities.
