- Internal Audit Planning: Engage in the planning and conduct of internal audits encompassing all functions and elements necessary to confirm compliance with applicable regulations and approved manuals.
- External Audit Planning: Engage in the planning and conduct of external audits of contracted organizations including but not limited to maintenance arrangements, manufacturers, suppliers, and overhaul/repair facilities, etc.
- Design Audit Checklists: Design and develop detailed audit checklists encompassing all applicable functions and elements under Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Porter Airlines’ approved company manuals, including all functions related to contracted external organizations.
- Ensure IOSA Conformance: Ensure checklists are in conformance with any applicable IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices (ISARPs).
- Audit Follow-up / Closure: Review and/or recommend corrective action plans (CAPs), audit sample dispositions, and process improvements. Ensure audit progress is conducted in a timely fashion, including follow-ups for CAP effectiveness, and to final audit closure.
- Corporate Policy Compliance: Adhere to all processes and procedures outlined in Porter’s SMS Manual and Audit Manual.
- Inter-Departmental Teamwork: Engage in Maintenance Quality Assurance team meetings and Quarterly “All Teams” meetings. Engage in various inter-departmental team meetings as may be required.
- SMS Investigations: Conduct SMS investigations including root cause analysis and the development of corrective action plans (after internal training has been provided).
- SMS General Participation: Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with, and promote the Company Safety Policy.
- Other: Occasional tasks assigned.
- 1+ years of aviation QA experience, with applicable training certification/s while working within in an AMO or AOC or MRO environment.
- Post-secondary education in an aviation related field, or equivalent education / experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary airport security clearance is required.
- Must maintain a valid passport (plus any necessary long-term visa for USA) and be able to travel to various locations worldwide when required.
- Knowledge of TCCA’s Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) is key asset.
- Knowledge of FAA’s Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) is a key asset.
- Knowledge/experience in AMOS maintenance software is a key asset.
- Knowledge/experience in IOSA auditing principles and ISARPs is a key asset.
- Knowledge/experience in AMOS (maintenance management software) is a key asset.
- Familiarity with various Technical Data sources (AMM, AIPC, CMM, MTCM) is a key asset.
- Impartiality, integrity, tenacity, diplomacy and self-reliance are key attributes for this role.
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail.
