Brief Description:Our employer is delivering more transit service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Their work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. Their investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. They are looking for someone to join a team which leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across a transit network.Job Function:
- Act as the focal point for gathering relevant information and drafting formal letters, position papers and commercial notices.
- Support the subcontract managers by referring to the contractual provisions, understanding the implications and advising them on how to move forward.
- Support and work alongside the procurement team, advising them on risk mitigations, value-for money approach and 'best-for-project' approach.
- Demonstrate a 'big-picture- approach and high personal responsibility in coordinating tasks and ensuring smooth project operations.
- Support the subcontract managers in all aspects of a subcontract lifecycle.
- Utilize Excel for advanced data management
- Review and manage payment implications and applications.
- Review and assign correspondence, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions.
- Ensure commercial requirements are met and all necessary stakeholders are cc'd in communications.
- Draft formal letters and other correspondence as needed.
- Coordinate tasks and responsibilities, ensuring smooth project operations.
- Attend and contribute to kick-off meetings with the construction and technical teams.
- Receive and manage claims from subcontractors, compiling and reviewing claims reports.
- Understand and follow organizational setups and protocols.
Job Requirement:
- Familiarity with the Construction Industry.
- 3+ years of experience in related field.
- Education in law, Civil Engineering, construction discipline or related field preferred.
- Experience with bridge or rail projects is a plus.
- Proven ability to coordinate with project coordinators, finance, cost control, technical, procurement, design, and investigation teams.
- Ability to read, understand and comment on commercial principles of construction agreements.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
