- Support and drive all vessels to not only meet, but exceed Quark brand quality standards
- Conduct regular reviews of the guest ratings and develop action plans with operational and industry partners to continually improve operations.
- Conduct regular shipboard visits and some sailings to connect with crew and operations and ensure Quark brand standards are met.
- Develop and maintain bunker, crewing, and maintenance plans for the vessels.
- Work collaboratively with the office operations team, onboard expedition team, and operations partners to build outstanding experiences for our guests.
- Collaborate with the Financial Analysts to assist with financial forecasts, seasonal and yearly budget plans.
- Develop and manage relationships with our partners and work together to improve the overall experience onboard.
- Connect with operations management from each partner and discuss how to manage and train officers to meet and exceed onboard standards.
- Provide all other forms of shore side support as the need arises by the Quark operations team, as it relates to deck, engine, technical and crewing.
- Exhibit Commitment to the Quark guests and show a dedication to moving the product forward to accommodate the guest satisfaction and requirements
- Communicate the operational plan to operational partners and assist with logistics for provision planning.
- Assist in promoting sustainability targets and the methods/incentives to reach and exceed them onboard through onboard procedures, contracts, and procurement
- Preference is given to candidates holding a certificate of competency, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and related experience in vessel management
- 2-4 years experience onboard in an expedition cruising environment.
- 2-4 years of shoreside experience in a similar shipboard operational role.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to collaborate and work with others to achieve company objectives
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of Arctic/Antarctic itineraries, repositioning, MARPOL, SOLAS, Flag and Class rules
- Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Word, PPT, and MXP systems is crucial
- Available, able, and willing to travel
