Work can include grounds and facility maintenance, equipment operation, basic construction or repair tasks, and hands-on support for day-to-day operations-providing valuable experience in real-world, physical work environments.Interested in workplace safety and prevention? As an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) student, you'll gain exposure to how safety legislation and policies are applied in practice. Build your skills while helping build Nova Scotia. As a Summer Student Labourer, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting road and bridge construction and maintenance across the province. Working alongside experienced professionals, you'll assist with traffic control, road and surface maintenance, culvert and guardrail installation, line painting, and more. This is a great opportunity to learn on the job, see your work make a real impact, and jump-start a career in construction or public infrastructure.Electrical / Electronics Technician Student - Traffic Control
Get handson experience supporting the electrical systems that keep Nova Scotia's roads safe. As an Electrical/Electronics Technician Student, you'll work with experienced government professionals assembling traffic signal components, testing and troubleshooting equipment, and contributing to realworld projects. You're a current student in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or Electrical Technician program returning to school next semester, with a valid driver's licence and a strong interest in handson electrical work. Strong math skills, attention to detail, basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office), and professional communication skills are important. Previous electrical or electronics experience is an asset.OHS Student
Help keep Nova Scotians safe while gaining valuable experience in occupational health and safety. As an OHS Student, you'll learn how the Occupational Health and Safety Act is applied across real workplaces, support program initiatives, and work alongside Safety Officers. You'll gain meaningful exposure, mentorship, and the chance to build strong professional relationships.Qualifications and ExperienceWe're looking for enthusiastic, motivated students who are currently enrolled in a related postsecondary program and returning to their studies in the next academic term. You don't need years of experience-bring your curiosity, energy, and willingness to learn and grow!What will help you succeed:

A positive attitude and interest in trades, maintenance, or hands-on work.
Ability to work safely and follow instructions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and working outdoors.

Previous experience in landscaping, maintenance, or trades.
