We steward precious resources by finding more sustainable solutions.Job SummaryOversee site inspection and contract administration for civil projects, managing construction progress, approvals, and documentation. Ensure safety, quality, and compliance while coordinating with clients and contractors. Requires technical expertise, problem-solving, and teamwork.Responsibilities & QualificationsDetailed daily report and record keepingIdentify and resolve construction issuesAttend and chair site meetings, prepare agendas, take meeting notes, and prepare site meeting minute reportsMonitor Contract quantities and prepare Request for Quotations, Change Directives, and Change Orders as neededPrepare monthly Payment CertificatesCoordination and liaise between Clients, Contractors, and other agenciesReview and approve Shop Drawings and SubmittalsManagement of responses to Contractor’s RFI’s and clarification requestsEvaluate contractor performance to ensure project deliverables and quality standards are achievedMaintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, site issues and project quality and resolve issues as requiredFollow all construction safety procedures and policies including the Occupational Health and Safety ActImplement and monitor inspection procedures in accordance with professional and corporate guidelinesBe able to work extended hours as the project requiresComplete tasks accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision. Other responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalentRegistered with P.E.O. as a P.Eng. or Registered with OACETT as a CETMTO Class ‘G’ driver’s license in good standing and access to a personal vehicleA minimum of 7+ years of direct experience in a Contract Administration and Site Inspection roles is requiredExperience in working on Ministry of Transportation (MTO) projects is considered to be an assetExperience in managing large scale municipal servicing projects with contaminated soils/water including significant dewatering requirements would be an assetExperience in the construction of pumping stations would be considered an assetStrong record keeping abilitiesSuperior written and verbal communication skillsExcellent problem-solving skillsSound judgement and decision-making abilityAbility to interpret Contract Documents and Engineering DrawingsKnowledge of Canadian Contract Law including the Construction Lien ActFirst Aid and CPR, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, OTM Book 7 training is considered an asset however, training will be providedSurvey knowledge using total station and GPS technology is considered an assetStrong MS office experienceCreative and innovative thinker with sound technical aptitude and attention to detailAbility to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, associates, and clientsAbility to effectively multi-task and work in fast paced, highly charged environmentClient focused, always striving to give clients the best solutionsStrong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.Additional InformationTYLin is committed to pay equity.
