Salary: $48.00-$55.00/hourOur client in Burlington, ON is actively looking for a Controller to join their team.The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, compliance, and internal controls. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage daily accounting activities while contributing to strategic financial planning.Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including A/P, A/R, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process; monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage all external audit processes.
- Maintain and improve internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to support operational needs.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
- Implement process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff; support training and development.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
