- Manage a full caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Provide clear, practical legal advice on family-related matters.
- Draft pleadings, agreements, correspondence, and other legal documents with precision.
- Conduct legal research and apply findings to complex client matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure efficient file progression.
- Supervise and mentor junior lawyers when required.
- Maintain a high standard of client service and professional conduct.
- Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Alberta, or eligibility for transfer to the Alberta bar.
- Strong background in family law with demonstrated advocacy experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage files independently while meeting deadlines.
- Commitment to ethical practice and client-centered service.
- Proficiency with legal research tools is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal practice experience.
- Family law experience is required.
- Client Advocacy: Confident and effective representation of client interests.
- Negotiation: Strong ability to resolve matters efficiently and strategically.
- Legal Analysis: Skilled at interpreting legislation, case law, and complex issues.
- Professional Judgment: Sound decision-making in high-stakes and sensitive matters.
- Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with lawyers, support staff, and clients.
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a significant bonus structure.
- Flexible discussions around base and bonus split may be considered.
