HR Generalist

- Provide day-to-day HR administrative support to the HR Director
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files (digital and hard copy)
- Administer HR documentation including employment letters, contracts, policy acknowledgements, and forms
- Manage HR data entry, updates, and reporting within the HRIS
- Track employee lifecycle changes including hires, promotions, transfers, leaves, and terminations
- Support benefits administration, leave management, and employee status changes
- Prepare HR reports, audits, and compliance documentation as required
- Coordinate job postings, screening, interviews, and candidate communications
- Assist with offer letters, background checks, and onboarding documentation
- Support new hire orientation and ensure onboarding checklists are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain recruitment records and candidate tracking
- Act as a first point of contact for employee HR inquiries
- Support performance management documentation, coaching records, and disciplinary files
- Assist with investigations, terminations, and employee relations matters, escalating as required
- Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures
- Support compliance with Alberta Employment Standards, WCB, and Occupational Health & Safety requirements
- Assist with policy updates, acknowledgements, and distribution
- Ensure HR practices align with legislation and internal standards
- Support HR initiatives, training coordination, and engagement activities
- Assist with process improvements, HR system enhancements, and special projects
- Contribute to continuous improvement of HR workflows and administrative processes
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Administrator, or HR Coordinator role
- Strong HR administration and documentation experience
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
- Experience in transportation, logistics, construction, or multi-site environments is an asset
- High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience working with HRIS systems
- Strong communication, professionalism, and discretion
- CPHR designation (or working toward) is an asset
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are an asset
