As our Senior Financial Analyst you will be responsible for the completion of the day-to-day operations within the financial reporting group, ensuring tasks are completed to meet corporate financial reporting timeframes in accordance with established internal controls and company policies. This role will work closely with other business units to ensure accurate and timely reporting and the incumbent will work closely with capital projects and financial instruments.Location:Cambridge, ONYour Day to Day as our Senior Financial AnalystCommunications:
- Functional relationships with purchasing, project accounting, F&A managers, and FP&A.
- Communicate with external parties, auditors and other accounting groups within Commercial Operations (shared nature of interests).
- Communicates accounting standards to project management and other groups within Commercial Operations regarding revenue recognition.
- Communicate with internal parties to determine the status of capital projects, and maintain projects accordingly.
- Responsible for the maintenance of the capital asset subledger.
- Responsible for coordinating with the purchasing and project management teams to determine when capital assets can be capitalized.
- Accounting for capital asset amortization, capitalized interest, and the maintenance of capital asset continuities.
- Set up and maintain capital projects within SAP.
- Organize and oversee the documentation, including proper approvals, for ACE documents.
- Prepare journal entries, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Prepare month end close activities, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner and adhering to established deadlines.
- Reconcile financial information between various financial systems and investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and assist Finance teams with other reconciliations across business units.
- Prepare FRS schedules, including supplemental schedules ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update forward contract schedules for matured and new contracts, ensuring schedules balance to the respective general ledger accounts.
- Coordinate account reconciliations with other business entities and prepare and review FRS schedules for other business entities.
- Respond to various audit requests (external and internal) and provide population schedules and supporting documentation for samples, when requested.
- Prepare various Ad Hoc reports, as requested.
- Manage the fixed asset sub-ledger, including assets under construction and provide reporting as requested.
- Provide information to internal and external auditors. This includes assisting the Financial Reporting Supervisor.
- Ensure audit and SOX and COSO requirements are being followed.
- Various account reconciliations, this may include reconciling data in various software systems such as SAP.
- University degree in business with an accounting major.
- Minimum of 4 years of Accounting experience required.
- CPA designation.
- Strong computer skills including in-depth knowledge of MS Excel.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and the ability to work overtime, as needed.
- Excellent organization and communications skills.
- Familiarity with SAP/S4 Hana is an asset.
- Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
