The Ramp Lead is responsible for supporting all ground handling operations; they are accountable for ensuring all policies and procedures are followed in the ramp operation. Ramp Leads act as the first point of contact for all Ramp Agents on shift and are responsible for communicating and escalating issues to Supervisors.Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence of corporate, departmental and OH&S policies and procedures.
- Plan, design and perform ramp services according to standards set by Executive Flight Centre
- Accountable for directing all ramp activities including; aircraft parking positions, flight lead assignments, and passenger movement.
- Provide training, guidance and mentorship to ramp staff in operational requirements for aircraft and ramp functions.
- Direct, plan, prioritize and organize day to day ramp operations effectively, delegating tasks appropriately and efficiently to the Ramp Agents.
- Follow Ground Operations Manual to administer company’s policies and procedures effectively providing excellent role modeling, leadership and setting the highest standard of performance.
- Marshall, chock, load and unload aircraft.
- Ramp services, including operations and maintenance of ground service equipment.
- Perform lavatory and potable water services.
- Function as Flight Lead and collaborate with Passenger Service Agents to ensure smooth ramp operations.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
- Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in ground handling operations.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience handling widebody aircraft and operating k-loaders.
- Current YYC RAIC and AVOP would be considered an asset.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
- Ability to obtain a current/valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and Airside Vehicle Operating Permit (AVOP) is required.
- Airport Security Clearance and Driver’s Abstract is required as a condition of employment.
- First Aid and CPR would be an asset.
- Able to work inclement weather, overtime, extended shifts and stat holidays as required.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Able to lift or move up to 60 lbs independently.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Highly motivated and able to work with minimal or no supervision.
- Basic mathematics, trouble shooting skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- A strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Professional, punctual, meticulous and diligent.
- Must meet all requirements and training for Ramp Agent positions and show demonstrated proficiency in all areas.
- Training and certification required by EFC standards
