We are seeking a Recruiting Leader for the contracts division of our Accounting Operations recruitment practice in Calgary. This role is suitable for an experienced recruitment agency professional with an entrepreneurial demeanor who thrives on business development, account management, client delivery, and mentorship.The Opportunity
As Accounting Operations Recruiting Lead, you will be responsible for driving growth within our contracts recruiting group that focuses on roles including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, non-designated accounting roles (Production Accountants, Joint Venture Accountants, Bookkeeper, Junior Accountants, Payroll, Human Resources, Admin and other office support functions.
You will act as a trusted advisor to clients while building a high-performing desk and team. This is an opportunity to establish a dominant presence in a core area of operations accounting and human resources that remains foundational to every business.Key AccountabilitiesBusiness Development & Client Management
  • Proactively develop and expand client relationships across industries requiring strong Accounting Operations, HR and Admin functions.
  • Lead client discovery sessions to understand transactional accounting structures, team gaps, and process challenges.
  • Position RPI as a trusted partner for hiring across operational accounting roles.
  • Build long-term partnerships with Finance Ops leaders, Controllers, CFOs, and Human Resource leaders.
  • Leverage RPI’s broader network to cross-sell services across finance, HR, Engineering, Sales, Operations, IT and Executive Search.
Recruitment Delivery
  • Manage full-cycle contract recruitment across accounting operations roles.
  • Support the recruiters on taking job orders and assessing their candidates for fit to increase placements of high-quality candidates across contract mandates.
  • Provide clients with market insights including compensation trends, talent availability, and hiring strategies.
  • Deliver a high-touch, relationship-driven experience to existing and prospective clients.
Practice & Team Leadership
  • Build and lead the contracts division of Accounting Operations practice within the Calgary office.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants or recruiters aligned to the desk. Set and ensure the team achieves business development and recruiting metrics.
  • Establish and hold team accountable for best practices across sourcing, candidate management, and client delivery.
  • Collaborate with partners on growth strategy, revenue targets, and market positioning.
  • Contribute to building RPI’s brand as a leader in accounting operations recruitment.
  • Maintain accurate CRM/ATS records and reporting.
Market Expertise & Thought Leadership
  • Develop deep expertise across accounting operations functions and how they vary by industry (energy, construction, manufacturing, professional services).
  • Stay ahead of market trends, including system implementations, automation, and process transformation.
Your Strengths Include
  • 5+ years of experience in recruitment, ideally within accounting, finance, or operations at a leadership level in contracts division.
  • Strong understanding of accounting operations functions such as AP, AR, Payroll, project-based accounting, Admin and HR roles.
  • Proven success in business development and account management, building long-term client relationships.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and grow a specialized practice.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of Calgary and Western Canadian accounting markets is preferred.
