- Maintain and install ornamental gardens and seasonal planters, which include watering, weeding, deadheading, and pruning.
- Assist natural areas restoration projects and perennial garden and shrub bed maintenance.
- Hardscape maintenance including interlock repair and adjustments, sign installation and the like.
- Park sanitation, including litter and waste collection.
- Provide staff support for outdoor events and stewardship activities.
- Additional tasks in other areas of park operations like turf care, urban arboriculture & forestry, park infrastructure and irrigation maintenance.
- Support winter maintenance operations including snow clearing and ice control.
- Other duties as needed.

- Only those with some formal training in programs or accreditations related to horticulture, landscaping, environmental science or who have extensive previous parks, landscape and related experiences would be considered.
- Must have a current knowledge of the Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to work daily from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, including evening and weekend shifts as required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with the public using tact and courtesy.
- A team player that embraces a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team.
- Must be capable of working in all types of weather.
- Must be able to lift 23kg.
- Must possess and maintain a valid G license.
