Job Description: SUMMARYBGIS at Parc Downsview Park is hiring Park Landscaper from Spring 2026 to Spring 2027. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a passion for working outdoors, an ability to work in a team environment, and a strong interest in the development and maintenance of green spaces. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESHorticulture
  • Maintain and install ornamental gardens and seasonal planters, which include watering, weeding, deadheading, and pruning.
  • Assist natural areas restoration projects and perennial garden and shrub bed maintenance.
  • Hardscape maintenance including interlock repair and adjustments, sign installation and the like.
  • Park sanitation, including litter and waste collection.
  • Provide staff support for outdoor events and stewardship activities.
  • Additional tasks in other areas of park operations like turf care, urban arboriculture & forestry, park infrastructure and irrigation maintenance.
  • Support winter maintenance operations including snow clearing and ice control.
  • Other duties as needed.
Maintenance

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Only those with some formal training in programs or accreditations related to horticulture, landscaping, environmental science or who have extensive previous parks, landscape and related experiences would be considered.
  • Must have a current knowledge of the Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to work daily from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, including evening and weekend shifts as required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with the public using tact and courtesy.
  • A team player that embraces a collaborative approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team.
  • Must be capable of working in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to lift 23kg.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
  • Must possess and maintain a valid G license.
This is a contract, full-time position with a salary range of $39,206 - $46,125 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate's competencies, including but not limited to experience, education and performance related to this role.
