- Provide assistance to the Director, Facilities, or his designate, in ensuring the Village grounds are maintained and orderly.
- Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Bush / edge trimming, cutting and or pruning
- Weeding, soil and mulch work
- Planting
- Cutting/trimming grass
- Designing landscaping including cultivating, trimming, pruning, planting, etc.
- General cleaning and garbage removal
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for managing own workload, ensuring deadlines are met and requests are dealt with in a timely manner. Addresses concerns with appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Consideration and adherence to health and safety is mandatory
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Must enjoy working outdoors in a team atmosphere is essential, as are effective English communication skills
- Flexible availability is an asset
- Ability to work together with all staff members; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Detail orientated and time management skills are essential
- Previous experience in landscaping or general grounds maintenance an asset
- Preference will be given to students in Landscaping or similarly related programs
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*;
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
