
SEAFOOD HACCP COORDINATOR

- Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the HACCP system
- Responsible for setting and monitoring standards, including the production, shipping, receiving and packaging areas.
- Act as the main conduit of information between the plant, external auditors or government regulators
- Responsible for accurate and comprehensive records that may be routinely audited
- Responsible for communication of standards to members of the management and supervisory team
- Responsible for monitoring yearly objectives and working on achieving them
- Responsible for training of employee to ensure compliance with all programs
- Update current FSEP program requirements and perform annual reassessment
- Update current HACCP programs, verification and reassessment
- Perform record checks and onsite verifications
- Training employees on FSEP/HACCP procedures and company policies
- Train employees on GMP's
- Collaborate with CFIA Inspectors, Operations, and Quality assurance when resolving food safety issues
- Assist in third party audits with QA Manager
- Maintain document control program and annual policies/procedures review
- Additional duties as assigned
- Relevant post-secondary education in Science or related course of study
- Able to work in a highly detailed environment
- Able to clearly establish priorities and follow through on them
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in HACCP programs is required
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 standards and framework considered an asset
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must be open and flexible to change
- Must take initiative and provide ongoing follow up to ensure compliance with all standards
- Must be able to work in a team environment and/or independently as projects require
- Ability to make quick, logical decisions based on risk assessment
- Office environment for most of each day.
- Working in a cold working environment on a daily basis, for parts of each day.
