Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide technical expertise and engineering support for our client's Tailings Assets, including spools, barges, valves, pumps, and related systems for our client in Fort McMurray, AB with FIFO available from Calgary and Edmonton. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and following up on LSD work, NDE inspections, and maintenance projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This position plays a key role in optimizing asset performance, managing equipment lifecycles, and supporting operational excellence.Location: Fort McMurray, ABShift: 7x7Job type: Temporary | Full-time | 6 -12month contract with possibility of extensionHere's why you should apply:Paid weekly accurate and on timeStrong health and safety programsMedical and dental benefits once qualifiedFree training programsNew and quicker onboarding processResponsibilities:Conduct on-site field walkdowns to assess equipment condition and project requirements.Develop piping scopes, technical drawings, and bills of materials (BOM).Respond to RFIs and technical inquiries from operations, supply chain, and vendors.Support and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigations, implementing corrective actions.Identify spare parts requirements and manage post-LSD replenishment.Develop and manage Management of Change (MOC) processes for Coarse Tailings, Fine Tailings, Drainage, and Wells systems.Prepare Statements of Work (SOWs) for shutdowns, lifts, and spool replacements.Collaborate with the Reliability team to share operational data and support asset analytics, including wear rates and service life assessments.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation required.5-10 years of relevant experience in Primary Extraction or Tailings Operations.Strong understanding of piping systems, rotating equipment, and maintenance practices in industrial environments.Proficient in reading and creating technical drawings and BOMs.Experience with root cause analysis and reliability engineering practices.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsMust be legally eligible to work, and reside in CanadaAre you interested in this position?
