Mechanical EngineerPay Rate: 70.00 per hourContract Duration: 6-12 monthsWork Location: Fort McMurray, ABWork Schedule: 7x7 rotation, flights and camp accommodations providedPOSITION OVERVIEWProvide mechanical engineering support for Tailings Assets, including spools, barges, valves, pumps, and related equipment. This role will support planning, execution, and follow-up activities for LSD work, NDE inspections, and maintenance projects, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct field walkdowns.
  • Develop piping scopes, drawings, and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Respond to RFIs and technical questions from operations, supply chain, and vendors.
  • Support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop spare parts requirements and post-LSD replenishment.
  • Develop and manage MOCs for Coarse Tailings, Fine Tailings, Drainage, and Wells.
  • Prepare SOWs for shutdowns, lifts, and spool changes.
  • Collaborate with the Reliability group to share data and support asset analytics (e.g., wear rates, service life).
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have P.Eng with APEGGA in good standing
  • 5-10 years in Primary Extraction or Tailings Operation
