Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per yearOur client, a well-established plaintiff personal injury law firm, is seeking an Legal Assistant/Paralegal Hybrid to join their team. This role is ideal for a seasoned Legal Assistant or Paralegal with strong knowledge of the personal injury process and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.Qualifications
- Superior working knowledge of personal injury claims and the claims process
- Experience with injury recovery, treatment, and insurer relations
- Proven ability to deliver outstanding client service and manage cases effectively
- Skilled in drafting pleadings, applications, and general litigation documents
- Strong understanding of court rules and procedures
- Ability to independently prepare mediation summaries and settlement proposals
- Exceptional aptitude for legal software and case management systems
- Strong organizational/document management skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and editing
- Paralegal certificate from an accredited program is an asset but not required
- Work closely with lawyers, legal assistants, and client intake staff
- Conduct new client intake meetings, gather information, and prepare documentation (retainers, authorizations, file opening)
- Manage client communications regarding recovery, treatment, and employment updates
- Handle benefits coverage with insurers and liaise with opposing counsel, employers, agencies, and clinicians
- Prepare limitation information and oversee initial file correspondence
- Ensure all pre-litigation documentation is in order and assist with litigation steps
- Review pleadings and prepare litigation documents, including Lists of Documents
- Manage special damages and document expenses
- Schedule and prepare for litigation stages, mediations, and independent medical examinations
- Review files for settlement and prepare proposals, disbursements, and Bills of Costs
