Join us and help drive innovation and sustainability in our projects.Position Title - Mechanical Engineer, Intermediate, Mining, Minerals & Metals division.Purpose:To support the Mechanical Engineering team with design and engineering work for studies and projects within the mining, metals, and minerals (MMM) sector. The candidate will work under the supervision of the discipline lead and will work well with the rest of the project team and customer. The candidate will be based out of Vancouver, BC, with periodic visits to customer sites.Self-motivated individuals with a desire to solve complex engineering problems, show effective team leadership and communication skills will be ideally suitable for this role.Responsibilities:
  • Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley, its customers and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to studies and projects.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, data sheets and vendor drawing and data requirements (VDDR) for mechanical equipment.
  • Perform technical bid evaluations leading to a recommendation and ultimate purchase of the equipment
  • Liaise where needed with the supplier in the purchase of equipment.
  • Familiar with applicable codes and standards, perform calculations.
  • Review shop drawings and attend inspection as required.
  • Prepare project scope of work, planning and support RFQ’s (Requests For Quotation).
  • Identify and report changes to study / project scope.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.

  • Experience in working in the mining industry and with mining equipment (above and below ground).
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet tight deadlines.
  • Working with other disciplines, understanding engineering sequence, workflow and working with the customer on design reviews.
  • Working knowledge in all the relevant standards.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Intermediate of relevant experience, project experience on mining, minerals & metals project highly desired.
  • Registered with EGBC as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
