- Further develop GHD's Central Canada transportation business strategy, with a focus on long-term opportunities that align with GHD's growth aspirations
- Leading business development efforts for Central Canada transportation sector while collaborating with global, national and regional leaders to build a unified approach
- Understanding the transportation market trends, with a forward-looking strategy toward future projects and emerging technologies in transportation.
- Identify areas of practice within Region, based on client feedback and/or market trends (service lines) that require enhancement to meet present or future opportunities
- Strengthening relationships with new and existing clients, while expanding GHD's presence in the transportation market across Ontario, Canada, and the Americas, consistent with GHD's enterprise strategy and business plans. Providing leadership on key client accounts in the Transportation market
- Supporting effective project delivery as a Project Director, ensuring successful outcomes on transportation projects on strategic projects for key clients.
- Driving innovation by integrating Digital and Advisory services into transportation market offerings, with a focus on sustainability and efficiency
- Collaborating with other Market Leaders and Client Managers across sectors such as Environment, Water, Energy and Resources, and Property & Buildings to win multidisciplinary projects
- Representing GHD at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, while elevating GHD's brand in the Transportation Sector
- Attracting top talent to grow and strengthen the Transportation capabilities at GHD
- A strong background in Engineering, Transportation, Planning or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience leading transportation projects and teams
- Proven experience in developing and operationalizing successful corporate strategies for the transportation market
- Deep understanding of Central Canada's transportation market, including trends, future challenges, and opportunities across Canada
- Broad technical and delivery experience across both the rail and transit and highways, roads and bridges sectors
- Deep industry connections across key Agencies across Major Provincial Agencies (Metrolinx, , MTO, IO) as well as Major Municipalities and Transit Agencies
- Industry knowledge and experience within Port and Airport Authorities, and/or Class 1 Rail are preferred but not required.
- Deep industry partner connections across contractors and consultants working across Central Canada.
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with experience managing teams and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organization
- Commercial acumen with a strong focus on client relationships, growth, and service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and thought leadership within the transportation sector
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM software is a plus
- Strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Develop a strong project pipeline using business intelligence tools such as Salesforce
- Manage risks and opportunities in the transportation market, ensuring strategic recruitment and talent development
- Improve tender/proposal success rates and ensure effective budget management
- Champion an integrated market approach across GHD's various service offerings
