System Engineer - Proposals (turbine)

- Identify the challenges and technical requirements as per customer specifications and company design practices;
- Overall technical proposal inclusive of related supply, logistics, engineering and QA costs, and preparing supporting technical documentation;
- Establish the supply plan with the support of the Cost Estimator;
- Establish the project schedule with the support of Scheduler;
- Preliminary design of turbine components to use for the proposal;
- Preparation of RFQ packages for various turbine components and site services;
- Negotiation/clarification with key vendors/subcontractors together with the Cost Estimator;
- Provide key inputs to the development of a winning strategy for the technical offer, validate that it is the proper strategy as the proposal proceeds and ensure it is followed by the proposal team;
- Lead and challenge the assigned engineering resources that will perform the turbine design for the proposal;
- Technical risk analysis has been completed and required actions/exceptions have been included within the proposal.

- Fluency in French & English languages - mandatory;
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of hydroelectric power plants (mainly turbine);
- Knowledge of technical aspects of hydro-mechanical projects. Commercial knowledge is an asset;
- Strong design experience (hydroelectric turbine design experience an asset);
- Experience in assembling hydroelectric turbine units an asset;
- Project Management skills - ability to handle multiple complex tasks daily;
- Effective communication skills (oral & written) in a multi-stakeholder environment;
- Proven leadership ability within a team context;
- Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity.
