This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing preventative and corrective maintenance activities while leveraging hands-on millwright expertise to improve equipment reliability, safety, and uptime. Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop detailed job plans for corrective, preventative, and shutdown maintenance activities
  • Accurately scope work including labor, tools, materials, parts, and safety requirements
  • Assist the Reliability Engineer to build and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) strategies and job plans within the CMMS (SAP)
  • Help to coordinate maintenance schedules between maintenance and operations to minimize downtime
  • Review and help prioritize work requests based on safety, production impact, and asset criticality
  • Analyze maintenance history and CMMS data to improve planning accuracy.
Technical & Trade Expertise
  • Apply Red Seal millwright expertise to ensure job plans are practical, safe, and executable
  • Provide technical guidance on rotating equipment, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes
  • Support troubleshooting and failure analysis to improve long-term equipment reliability
  • Validate job plans through field walkdowns and collaboration with tradespeople
  • Experience with rigging and overhauling heavy industrial equipment is considered an asset
  • Reliability & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to shift reactive work to planned and preventative maintenance
  • Support reliability initiatives including PM optimization and job plan standardization
  • Participate in shutdown and outage planning, execution, and post-job reviews
Coordination & Communication
  • Work closely with trades, supervisors, engineers, and operations personnel
  • Ensure materials and spare parts are kitted and available prior to scheduled work
  • Communicate plan readiness, constraints, and schedule impacts clearly
  • Promote safety, quality workmanship, and maintenance best practices
What We Expect…
  • Red Seal Journeyman Millwright (Industrial Mechanic)
  • Experience in a Maintenance Planner or Scheduler role
  • 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Solid understanding of lockout/tagout and safe work practices
Preferred But Not Required:
  • Reliability or asset management training (RCM, PdM, RCA)
  • Experience in manufacturing, pulp & paper, mining, or heavy industrial environments
  • Computer skills including Excel and reporting tools
