Job Description:Our client, a worldwide leader in providing high-quality consulting and engineering services for projects globally, is in search of a Lead Design Engineer with expertise in Electrical Substations and more than 10 years of relevant experience. The client is located in the western part of Toronto.Your experience you bring will include:· Over 12 years of working experience in Substation Design as well as medium voltage and high voltage system design.· The candidate will have to be a registered Professional Engineer in the United States and/or Canada.· Possess experience in the study, technical knowledge, and design expertise of electrical distribution systems and industrial controls for a broad range of industries, with a heavy emphasis on utility substations.· Possess knowledge in the design of medium and high voltage power distribution and transmission, including load flow, short circuit and grounding studies, transformer sizing and cable sizing.· Possess experience in preparing layouts, elevation views, installation details, grounding, lighting, cable trays and conduit layout drawings is required.· Possess experience with protection, control and metering systems.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assigns and outlines work, advises on technical problems, and reviews work for technical accuracy and adequacy.
  • Coordinates with Clients define project direction, provide status reports, and obtain information required by the team.
  • Leads a team of technical experts to complete projects that meet client requirements while respecting budgets,
  • Reviews and prepares technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Prepares proposal writeups and estimates based on client Request for Proposals (RFPs).
