- Work on CL Water Bomber and Commander 690 Aircraft in a hangar and on rotational deployment outside of Winnipeg throughout the summer fire season.
- Work efficiently alone and as part of a team to conduct scheduled maintenance tasks under the guidance of a licensed AME.
- Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair an aircraft's mechanical systems under the guidance of a licensed AME.
- Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers and diagnostic equipment.
- Use the company reporting systems to keep timely and accurate records of labour and the repair and maintenance activities conducted.
- Carefully observe all company procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task and maintain a clean and productive work area.
- Be thoroughly familiar with, and put to use, safety procedures and safe work practices including the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks/jobs.
- Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Enrolment in an accredited AME apprentice program or graduate of Transport Canada accredited AME diploma program
- Demonstrated experience working on Turbine Powered Aircraft
- Good organizational skills
- Proficiency in English, written and spoken
- The physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods
- The physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods
- The physical dexterity to allow working in confined spaces
- The ability and willingness to travel and deploy outside of Winnipeg for 2-4 weeks at a time.
- The ability and willingness to work shift work.
- Have ability to work at heights
- Be willing and able to travel for 4 weeks at a time.
- You are eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and ITAR Clearance
- Have or can obtain a Canadian passport
- Hold a valid drivers license
