- AME crews are deployed to one of our operating bases in YGM, YQD or YTH
- Occasional deployments out of province to support wildfire suppression efforts
- Work schedule is generally two-weeks on and two-weeks off (variable)
- Travel between Winnipeg and site is paid
- AME crews work from our hangar at YWG
- Working hours are generally daytime shifts Monday to Friday
- Paid time-off during Christmas to New Year office closure
- Overtime as required to meet April 1st deployment deadline
- Maintain CL215/CL415 Water Bomber Aircraft and Twin-Commander AC690's
- Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair aircraft mechanical or structural systems
- Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers and diagnostic equipment
- Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks
- Mentor AME apprentices
- Keep timely and accurate records of the repair and maintenance activities that were conducted
- Carefully observe all procedures, rules and regulations when performing any task
- Be thoroughly familiar with, and put to use, safety procedures and safe work practices
- Use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for tasks/jobs
- Maintain a clean and productive work area
- Work efficiently alone and as part of a team
- Read, understand, and adhere to the:
- Safety & Health Policy Statement
- Company Occupational Health & Safety Manual
- Company Policies and Procedures
- Utilize the Company reporting system to report any hazard, incident or accident
- Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed
- Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
- Must hold a valid M1 and/or M2 AME license
- Experience with CL-215/CL-415 aircraft is an asset
- Experience with Garrett Turbine powered aircraft is an asset
- Have demonstrated experience utilizing WinAir or other similar maintenance programs
- Have good organizational skills
- Are proficient in English, written and spoken
- Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods
- Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods
- Have physical dexterity to allow working in confined space
- Have ability to work at heights
- Have the ability to obtain and maintain Airport Restricted Area Identity Care (RAIC) and ITAR Clearance
- Have or can obtain a Canadian passport
- Hold a valid driver's license
