
Fibre Splicer – $35–$42/hr + Full Benefits in Victoria, BC

- Splice, terminate, troubleshoot & test fibre and copper networks
- Work with FOSCs, mid-stripping, FEP installs, and handle all associated termination hardware
- Read and interpret engineered design maps & splice docs
- Complete documentation accurately and on time
- Ensure daily safety practices: truck inspections, toolbox talks, full adherence to site protocols
- Sometimes lead a team or coach junior splicers (if you’re up for it)
- Travel to different areas of BC when needed, always with safety & quality as the top priorities
- Experience with splicing, activating & testing various fibre types
- Able to work in all weather, lift 75 lbs, climb ladders, enter confined spaces — and enjoy an outdoor, hands-on environment
- Strong communication skills, self-disciplined and organized
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
- Pass a criminal record check
- Safety tickets are a plus: Aerial Lift, Confined Space, Fall Arrest, First Aid, Ground Disturbance, Hydro Awareness — or we’ll help you get them
- Telus and/or Rogers certified? Even better.
- Skills in interpreting and implementing engineered design maps and records
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends or on emergency callouts as required. It won’t happen all the time, but the work is certainly there.
