Our state-of-the-art Loss Prevention Department currently has the following opportunity in our Richmond, BC Head Office:Loss Prevention Manager, Physical Security and Resource ProtectionAs a senior member of the Loss Prevention Management team, the Loss Prevention Manager, Physical Security and Resource Protection works to meet the company’s Loss Prevention objectives, ensures that all physical security plans, equipment, and systems are properly deployed and maintained.The Manager, Physical Security and Resource Protection leads the Asset Protection team. This includes initiatives in security design, product protection, and our physical security (locksmith) shop. The Manager leads these efforts to ensure appropriate security postures are achieved and physical security programs are properly planned, deployed, and maintained.The Manager, Physical Security and Resource Protection will also direct the use and deployment of security systems including Intrusion alarms, video surveillance systems, analytics systems, door and lock hardware, glazing and perimeter protection, access control and key control, electronic article surveillance, tactical display and inventory monitoring systems.Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Protect all company assets and reduce losses.
  • Attend select industry meetings and events to remain current on new technology and innovation within the security industry.
  • Maintain manufacturer / vendor relationships related to physical security supply and sourcing of security devices and tools.
  • Lead the selection and training of Asset Protection team members.
  • Deliver company approved training programs to ensure adequate physical security knowledge within the Loss Prevention Department staff.
  • Lead and direct Loss Prevention personnel engaged in physical and systems security initiatives.
  • compliance with all applicable licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise the use of physical resources and equipment of the Asset Protection team and ensure safe, legal, and ethical usage of same.
  • Oversee and audit maintenance programs within each LP area related to physical security, fire, and life safety devices.
  • Conduct or lead formal risk assessments of facilities and operational units making recommendations for improvements.
  • Conduct ongoing formal audit of all asset protection and physical security systems to ensure program compliance.
  • Identify requirements, solutions, and sources for tactical merchandising and oversee selection and loss prevention purchasing of security display devices.
  • Monitor all construction projects and ensure proper implementation of loss prevention systems within timelines and budgetary targets.
  • Deliver loss awareness programs which protect employees and customers, safeguard the London Drugs brand, prevent loss, and reduce incidents of crime.
  • Ensure compliance with all security related licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze data reports to identify high risk products, and to recommend tactical display strategies.
  • Ensure physical and systems awareness programs are designed and implemented by the various loss prevention teams.
  • Carry communication tools (mobile phone, pager) and respond to after-hours emergencies, and alarm calls as required.
  • Carry keys, access cards, codes to attend and open select locations (in order to respond to emergencies).
  • Manage security response during emergency situations with Head Office leadership.
  • Will travel to any company location or on behalf of company to industry events when required.
  • Will be available to communicate with the LP team, Executive team, and authorities outside of scheduled hours as needed

  • Intermediate general computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint) ability to use AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, conceptualize drawings, detailed hardware specifications, technical cut sheets, and security system design documents.
  • Show a willingness to assist others to become more skilled.
  • Ability to conduct risk analysis and determine a strategic response to security challenges.
  • Appropriate leadership skills which would include elements of planning and administration, human resource management, loss prevention knowledge and technology awareness.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and always looking to contribute to the overall success of London Drugs.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and communicate for team success.
  • Ability to read and conceptualize plans and blueprints, door hardware schedules, electrical drawings, and to issue site construction recommendations based on security objectives and standards.
EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of retail and commercial security practices, shrink reduction strategies, loss prevention techniques, and relevant criminal code sections.
  • Formal physical security or construction industry education or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, strengths, and skills.
  • Strong understanding of security assessment and systems design process.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction process, codes pertaining to security and life safety systems, industry standards for physical security design in a retail setting.
  • Knowledge of security use of architectural hardware, intrusion systems, fire alarm systems, video surveillance, access and key control, asset tracking, and perimeter protection.
  • Understanding of security best practices, industry standards for security design, common commercial security measures, construction practices and applicable codes and regulation.
  • Experience with deploying security in support of retail and commercial operations and facilities is preferred.
  • Understanding of relevant provincial licensing and regulation.
  • Provincial security worker license, security consultant preferred ability to obtain licensing in any province as required.
  • Previous loss prevention or related security industry management experience.
  • Security related education or recognized professional accreditation.
  • Industry training or professional certification (i.e. LPC, PSP, CPP, ASP) preferred.
  • Formal Criminal Justice education or a combination of education and experience that yields the required knowledge, strengths and skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, conflict management and negotiation.
  • Ability to conduct complex security surveys, risk analysis, and make evidence-based security recommendations.
  • Completion of Interpersonal Conflict Resolution training is an asset.
  • First Aid and W.H.I.M.I.S. Training
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and own vehicle.
