Salary: $20.14 to $24.22 per hourWage Benefits:In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.2% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
- 5.2 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays.
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay.
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings
- $5.00 per hour for nights
- Safe operation and maintenance of snowmaking fan guns and air/water guns, pumps, compressors, valves, hoses and tools.
- Operate side-by-sides, snow machines, ATV's, trucks, and mobile machinery.
- Assist with trail packing, grooming, and track setting.
- General labour or other duties.
- Ensure there is adherence to all pertinent policies, procedures, and protocols, including Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and following Government of Alberta guidelines.
- Have a mechanical aptitude and equipment operating experience including the ability to troubleshoot equipment and the ability to work outdoors in the winter for long periods of time.
- Ability to support and work with other team members within the Kananaskis Region and at Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park.
- Use good judgment and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Respond to public inquires and address any safety concerns.
- Interact with the public in a professional manner and to create a positive visitor experience.
- Be able to lift 25 kilograms.
- If needed, lead and participate in emergency and evacuation protocols to provide support to visitors and staff in emergency situations.
- Some high school education.
- Recognized Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certification.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent and clear 3-year Driver's Abstract.
- Experience and knowledge with snowmaking operations, operating snowmobiles, ATV's, tractors or agricultural equipment.
- Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills to identify mechanical or operational issues.
- Well-developed oral and written English skills to effectively communicate with the general public to answer inquiries.
- Familiarity with Nordic skiing (Classic, Biathlon, Skate).
- Familiarity with Kananaskis Region and surrounding area.
- Seasonal contracts from November 2025 until January 2026, dependent on winter seasonal weather and operating conditions.
- Shift schedules are built into a 24/7 operations; these positions may require you to work evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the duration of the winter as required.
- Hours of employment are up to 40 hours per week, either 8- or 10-hour shifts.
- You must have access to reliable transportation to and from work.
