The position will be based out of the Waterloo, London, or Hamilton office, but may require travel to other regional Stantec offices. Your Key ResponsibilitiesAs the successful candidate, you will use your technical abilities to lead and/or complete the surface water resources component(s) of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting. You will report directly to the Team Lead and will have both technical and business development responsibilities. Other responsibilities include: - Undertaking the detailed studies, modeling and design tasks associated with surface water works in support of a wide variety of projects in both the private and public sectors. Assignments will include stormwater management for a variety of development projects, Subwatershed Plans/Master Drainage Studies, floodplain delineation/management analyses, highway drainage design, erosion control studies, etc.Delegation and coordination of technical work to appropriate staff members to manage workload within the local group of 20 surface water professionalsMentorship of junior staff across a range of technical and professional development levelsCoordination with engineers, technical staff and/or team members in various disciplines to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective mannerServing as a technical expert during liaison with clients, municipal/agency staff, and other stakeholdersResearching issues related to surface water resources that impact individual projectsWriting/reviewing reports and design briefs to document analysesTaking responsibility for the quality of written, technical and graphic work in a senior review (QA/QC) roleManaging surface water related projects and/or tasks, ensuring completion of work on-time and on-budgetLead and/or contribute to project proposals and budgetsThis position includes exposure to a variety of projects and sectors, so experience with different sectors and clients would be considered an asset.
