The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Canadian Payroll, Workday solutions, and a strong ability to provide exceptional support and consultancy services to our clients. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and client-facing experience to ensure the successful operation and optimization of Workday Systems.What will your typical day look like?You will serve as the primary SME for Workday Payroll, managing end-to-end payroll processes and post-production support. Your day will include collaborating with clients to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions, while ensuring compliance with Canadian payroll regulations and union rules. You’ll support payroll integrations, validate impacts across related modules, and troubleshoot payroll and data issues. Leveraging your experience in complex payroll environments and HR system projects, you’ll configure and optimize solutions, lead and support testing, and provide clear documentation for all implemented changes—all while maintaining strong customer relationships and managing expectations.Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensuring the ongoing successful support of post-deployment Workday solutions.
- Provide end‑to‑end functional support for Workday Payroll Management in a post‑deployment environment, ensuring system stability and business continuity.
- Serve as a primary functional contact for payroll‑related incidents, service requests, enhancements, and break/fix issues.
- Leading client discussions – requirements gathering, user stories/test scenario creation, solution configuration, lead/support testing and provide documentation on implemented solution.Excellent understanding of Workday Canadian Payroll Solution.
- Support Workday feature adoption, Workday Releases, regression testing, and impact assessments.
- Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and technology requirements. Identify areas where technology can drive improvements and efficiencies.
- Continuously monitor the performance of implemented solutions to identify areas for improvement or optimization. Provide recommendations for updates, upgrades, or modifications as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in Workday Payroll implementation/support and consulting on Workday solutions, with a focus on system architecture and functional design.
- Proven functional and technical experience, design skills, with the ability to analyze business challenges and develop effective solutions that leverage technology.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey payroll technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Workday Canadian Payroll certification(s) are preferred.
