Client Location: Toronto (Onsite/Hybrid: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.About the EngagementAkkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in Oracle technologies to support complex enterprise-scale environments across both cloud and on-premises infrastructures. The consultant will play a key role in database optimization, migration planning, performance tuning, and ensuring secure, reliable database operations aligned with Public Service standards. This role provides technical leadership in multi-tenant database environments, contributes to architectural decisions, supports Oracle 19c migration initiatives, and ensures consistent knowledge transfer staff.ScopeCreate and implement physical database designs optimize Oracle DBMS ecosystems.Perform database optimization, capacity planning, installation, migration, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.Maintain and monitor multiple Oracle 10g/11g/12c/19c databases in large multi-tenant environments.Design, build, and configure Oracle Database Servers on Windows, Solaris, and Linux.Assignment DeliverablesTechnical architecture recommendations for Oracle database environments.Migration plans, installation documentation, and configuration records.Performance tuning reports, capacity plans, and security/audit configurations.Risk, issue, and mitigation documentation for database operations.Expertise RequiredMust Have:10+ years of hands-on experience in Database Administration or related IT roles.Experience maintaining several Oracle 10g/11g/12c/19c databases in multi-tenant environments.Experience with one or more operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris).Strong skills in database optimization, installation, migration, performance tuning, backup & recovery.Experience implementing security controls, auditing, and privacy-safe database configurations.Experience with cloud migration, Incident/Change/Configuration Management.Proficiency in at least one programming language and query languages.Track record of meeting deadlines and strong teamwork capabilities.Nice to Have:Experience researching and implementing cybersecurity vulnerability remediation.Awareness of emerging IT trends and directions.Security ClearanceRequired.ImportantThis is a business-to-business engagement.
