- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards
- Develop, monitor, and maintain internal controls for all financial activities
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting activities, collaborating with various departments
- Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors
- Manage payroll processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
- Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic planning
- Previous experience as a Controller
- Expertise in fund accounting, grant tracking, and nonprofit compliance
- Proficient with accounting software
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
