About OpportunityWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced leader to serve as Administrator for our long-term care facility. The Administrator will oversee daily operations, ensuring high-quality Elder care, regulatory compliance, and a positive work environment for staff.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the long-term care homeEnsure compliance with provincial regulations and standards of careFoster a culture of respect, dignity, and resident-centered careManage budgets, staffing, and resource allocationCollaborate with families, healthcare providers, and community partnersLead quality improvement initiativesPromote staff development and retention through mentorship and trainingQualificationsAn Indigenous Leader from Unama'ki, preference given to Community Members of Eskasoni BandBachelor's degree in Nursing, or a related health care fieldMinimum 5 years of leadership experience in long-term care, healthcare administration, or relevant managerial experienceStrong knowledge of Nova Scotia's long-term care regulations and standardsExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex operationsLeadership in Continuing Care Certificate or willingness to obtainProficiency in Mi'kmaq will be considered an assetValid NS Drivers licence and access to transportationAbility to provide a Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector ScreeningAbout UsA new long term care home for elders located on the Eskasoni First Nation.
