  • Provide legal advice and support on insurance defense litigation matters, handling cases from start to finish.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to insurance claims and litigation.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, including court appearances and mediations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with external counsel to manage litigation strategies and outcomes.
  • Offer guidance on risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Stay updated on changes in insurance laws and regulations in Alberta.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and clients.

  • A law degree (LLB) from a recognized institution and membership in the Alberta Bar (in good standing).
  • 5+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, gained either at a law firm or in-house within the insurance sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • A commitment to upholding professional and ethical standards.
