- Provide accurate, relevant, and timely legal advice to the legal team, business units, affiliates, and staff on a broad range of matters related to bulk hauling, brokerage, and related service offerings.
- Negotiate, draft, and review a wide variety of corporate, commercial, sales, HR, IT, and other commercial agreements.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate legal risks through the development, drafting, implementation, and oversight of policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
- Promote best practices related to legal compliance, risk management, and corporate governance across the organization.
- Support and facilitate compliance efforts across business units with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Manage relationships with third parties, including external legal counsel, auditors, and other professional service providers.
- Design, deliver, and support legal training initiatives for business units and internal stakeholders.
- Provide oversight of litigation matters and regulatory compliance issues, working closely with external counsel as required.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to legal and other staff, as appropriate.
- Monitor and remain current on legislative and regulatory developments that impact Trimac’s business and the industries in which it operates.
- Liaise effectively with senior leadership and other internal stakeholders across the business.
- Perform additional duties and support special projects as assigned by management.
- Periodic travel may be required.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform all duties in accordance with the Company’s Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security policies.
- Mandatory: Active member in good standing with, and authorized to practice law by, one of the following:
- The Law Society of Alberta, or
- The State Bar of Texas.
- Preferred: Minimum of four (4) years of experience practicing as a corporate/commercial transactions or M&A lawyer, either in private practice or as in‑house counsel.
- Relevant legal experience acquired through prior roles, including formal internships, clerkships, or articling positions, that demonstrates progressive responsibility in corporate, commercial, transactional, or regulatory matters.
- Experience working with complex commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and advising internal stakeholders is strongly preferred.
