Summary:The Millwright Team Lead is a key member of the Maintenance Department, working under the direction of the Lift Maintenance Supervisor and working closely with the mechanical and electrical teams as well as the Maintenance Administrator.The candidate shall exhibit knowledge and have experience of trade skills. The candidate will be responsible for leading varied programs such as seasonal lift shutdowns and the implementation of scheduled, seasonal maintenance programs. The Millwright Team Lead shall possess and demonstrate working knowledge of lift maintenance and ski hill operations. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment keeping safety of the staff and resort guests a priority.Job Description:Accountabilities
  • Work with Lift Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Administrator to coordinate, execute and document all lift related maintenance
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance schedules with the team
  • Identify and correct any problems found in resort lift equipment
  • Adhere to assembly and installation instructions set forth in vendor manuals and specifications
  • Actively be involved in coordination of preventative and predictive maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment
  • Maintain records of work and report on all lift maintenance related activities
  • Assist with training Lift Operators to safely operate the lifts and perform routine checks
  • Operate company equipment safely and effectively in accordance with company policies and within Z-98 code as governed by BC Safety Authority
  • Lead, motivate and manage a team of skilled Millwrights
  • Keep work area safe and clean and report any damage, malfunction, misuse or abuse of any equipment or property
  • Ensure safety of guests and employees through proper training and adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance and snowmaking maintenance as required
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
  • Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) responsibilities and requirements in all work practices
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner when working with colleagues, contractors, and guests
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Certified Journeyperson Millwright
  • BC Safety Authority Lift 150, 151, 152, 153 certifications
  • Welding ticket (asset)
  • 4-5 years of ski industry experience
  • Lift maintenance experience, including shutdowns and lift installation/infrastructure (asset)
  • Must hold a current, valid driver's license
  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability (required for on-hill access)
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Communicate effectively through accurate verbal and written communications.
Working Conditions
  • Able to work at heights and must have physical dexterity, strength and stamina necessary to work with machinery and equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and holidays
  • May be exposed to severe resort weather conditions (snow, rain, cold, wind)
