- Oversee daily public operations of the Grizzly Bear Refuge, including guest access, tours, and interpretive programming.
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise GBR Shift leads and Guides.
- Lead delivery of interpretive tours and educational programming, ensuring consistent messaging and guest engagement standards.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Interpretive Centre, including opening/closing procedures and visitor flow.
- Coordinate staff scheduling to align with operating hours, visitation levels, and special events.
- Develop and enforce public safety procedures for guests and staff in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Assist with the maintain and inspect of habitat areas including fencing, den, holding, isolation areas, and enrichment structures.
- Coordinate minor groundskeeping, cleanliness, signage, and site readiness, and liaise with Maintenance for larger repairs/projects.
- Assist with summer operations planning, including budgets, operating dates, staffing levels, and access protocols.
- Monitor operational expenses and labour costs within approved budget parameters.
- Support long-term planning for GBR programs, products, and guest experiences.
- Work closely with the Animal Welfare Coordinator to align tours, schedules, and messaging with animal welfare priorities.
- Act as a safety ambassador, supporting OH&S programs and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in visitor operations, education, interpretation, or outdoor program delivery.
- Demonstrated experience supervising, scheduling, and coaching staff.
- Strong public speaking, guest engagement, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with budgeting, labour planning, or operational cost control is an asset.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Valid PAL certificate.
- Ability to access the GBR by skiing or snowboarding.

- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods over rough terrain.
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including rain, snow, wind, and cold.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Competitive wage: $25.00-30.00/hour, dependent on experience
