Position: Systems Testing/QA Specialist
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 178 Days Contract + Possible ExtensionExperience and Skill Set Requirements:
Skills and competencies required for the assignment:
Quality Assurance Methodology: 55%
  • Senior System Tester with 3+ years of experience in process, planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts
  • Experience with integration testing strategies for asynchronous and event-driven architectures
  • Extensive background in testing system integrations in service-oriented and microservices environments
  • Experience with manual testing
  • Experience in working with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.
  • Knowledge and experience in testing of the Registry system (ex. Catalyst).
  • Knowledge of the systems development cycle (SDLC), software test life cycle (STLC), project management.
  • Knowledge of application development methodologies, techniques and methods, structured
Quality Assurance Experience: 35%
  • Analysis and design methodology, techniques; structured testing
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for test case management, pipelines, and defect tracking
  • Solid understanding of web service protocols including SOAP, REST, HTTP, XML, and JSON
  • Proficient in testing REST and SOAP APIs, security, and data integrity through structured request/response analysis
  • Analysis of business requirements and functional designs
  • Knowledge of Risk and evidence-based testing
  • Analysis of business rules
  • Creation of the test cases, traceability matrix
  • Defining the expected results
  • Creation of test data, test user accounts
  • Creation of database queries to select test data and ensure database integrity
  • Recording the results of the testing in DevOps/JIRA
  • Experience in entry, exit and acceptance testing criteria
