- Prepare, revise, and maintain both non-technical and technical documents, including software, systems engineering, system operations, installation and configuration guides, testing, and user documentation, as well as data definition and data flow documentation.
- Gather non-technical and technical information to prepare written texts.
- Maintain and update a documentation library.
- Utilize tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to produce quality documentation and training materials.
- Participate in all phases of documentation, including preparing artifacts for Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) processes.
- Understand technical concepts and write technical copy for various types of documents for programs or projects of similar complexity.
- Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.
- Research highly technical subject matter, organize information from multiple sources, and express technical information in written form understandable to a wide audience.
- Apply technical writing concepts based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
- Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings and operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer-related information.
- Independently prepare and maintain highly complex systems, programming, and operations documentation.
- 8+ years of experience as a Technical Writer focused on developing technical documentation.
- Thorough experience developing documentation for an engineering organization or highly technical environment.
- Collaborative and adaptable individual.
- Reliability clearance required.
- Preferred education in English, Communications, or Technical Writing.
- Experience with tools such as Jira/Confluence/MS Office tools.
- Outstanding written communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and complete multiple assignments simultaneously.
