Role Overview
The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining high-quality documentation that supports Telesat’s engineering, telecommunications, and aerospace initiatives. This role requires someone who can collaborate effectively with technical teams and translate complex concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly materials.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and maintain technical documentation including manuals, guides, procedures, and reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather and validate information.
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal standards and meets the needs of diverse stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
- Adapt content for different audiences, including engineering teams, clients, and regulatory bodies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes and tools.
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer in industries such as telecommunications, aerospace, transportation, or engineering.
- Strong ability to grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly.
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to shifting priorities.
- Background in private sector companies (e.g., Pratt & Whitney, Bombardier, CAE, Rolls-Royce, SNC) is an asset.
