
Environmental Project Manager

- Lead, coordinate and deliver all aspects related to environmental permitting activities, particularly for the transportation and energy sector, working as part of a wider delivery team.
- Coordinate and guide efforts to obtain and comply with environmental approvals/permits for projects from regulatory agencies (municipal, provincial and federal).
- Act as a project manager/coordinator responsible for the development and management of scope, budget, schedule, and effective quality oversight.
- Assist in the development and implementation of consultation and engagement programs, including with First Nations and Indigenous communities.
- Independently coordinate and manage external subcontractors.
- Effectively delegate tasks and activities to more junior staff, providing technical and supervisory guidance on assigned tasks.
- Assist with and, as necessary, take a lead role in the development of proposals, qualification documents and other business development related activities.
- Interact with clients and regulatory agencies and ministries to ensure that projects are successfully delivered within timelines.
- Support the growth of environmental planning / environmental assessment market share in strategic markets.

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related degree.
- 15-20 years of related experience in managing/coordinating environmental assessments and securing construction permits/approvals including for transportation and energy projects.
- Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience working with transportation and energy regulators is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with environmental project management fundamentals including cost control, scope management and scheduling.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage multiple assignments at one time.
- Experience working in a fast-paced engineering or environmental consulting environment.
- Full or Provisional membership in a professional body is an asset (e.g. RPP, PMP, EP).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
