Job DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?As the Senior Manager, you are responsible for leading an AML Regulatory Reporting team to ensure accurate reporting and compliance for Large Cash Transaction (LCT) and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) reporting. You will maintain oversight of the health of RBC’s regulatory reporting including completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of submissions to the regulator. Consulting with both internal and external stakeholders, you will provide direction and expertise in respect of AML reporting issues to both troubleshoot issues as well as look for opportunities to enhance efficiency. Collaborating closely with the Senior Manager Quality Control you will address areas of concern as identified and implement action plans for continuous improvement for the team’s regulatory reporting. Support change management routines for FINTRAC reporting changes affecting team systems and procedures. Support field work with FINTRAC, Financial Crimes Oversight Testing (FCOT) and Internal Audit Services (IAS) such as responding to requests for information, ensuring appropriate gaps are documented and action plans are appropriate as well as coordination of remediation activities, as applicable.What Will You Do?
  • Lead a team of 14 FINTRAC Reporting Analysts who are responsible to execute the controls put in place to ensure effective LCT and EFT reporting to FINTRAC
  • Foster a team mindset for collaboration and ensure that employees understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to the overall goals and objectives for Financial Crimes
  • Support and execute change management routines for FINTRAC reporting changes affecting team systems and procedures.
  • Liaise with various partners (e.g. AML Governance, Insights & Analytics, AML FIU, AML IT, PB&CB, GTB, Cash Operations) to provide direction and expertise in respect of AML reporting issues.
  • Collaborate with key service and business partners, as required, in the operationalization of policies and procedures as they affect AML reporting and address any gaps, as applicable
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager Data Quality to address areas of concern as noted by the Quality Assurance testing and develop action plans for issues noted and coach staff appropriately
  • Strengthen RBC’s existing FINTRAC reporting program through additional ad hoc reviews to identify trends and determine areas for improved effectiveness
  • Monitor monthly Oversight Management Dashboards and work with the Director and key partners to address
  • Support the Director in responding to engagements with FINTRAC, Financial Crimes Oversight Testing (FCOT) and Internal Audit Services (IAS) such as responding to requests for information, ensuring appropriate gaps are documented and action plans are appropriate as well as coordination of remediation activities as applicable.
Must Have:
  • 2-4 years knowledge of Canadian AML laws and regulations
  • Prior leadership and people management experience of a large team
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management and organizational skills in order to manage workload and ensure established benchmarks are met.
  • Strong impact and influence skills with business partners
  • University degree or equivalent experience
Nice to have:
  • CAMS designation
  • Prior experience with Policy and Procedures (developing/writing)
