- Lead and manage transportation engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Develop and review roadway designs, traffic impact studies, and transportation plans.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient project delivery.
- Utilize advanced engineering software and CAD tools to create detailed design plans and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and field investigations to assess project requirements and constraints.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national transportation standards and regulations.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate project progress and technical solutions.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in transportation engineering.
- Contribute to business development efforts through proposal writing and networking activities.
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations forming our Health Safety & Environmental management system.
- Participate in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.
- Completion of a university degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
- Minimum 10 years' of progressive consulting experience completing transportation projects for Alberta Transportation or Municipal clients.
- Demonstrated experience with Alberta Transportation design guidelines and construction specifications.
- Ability to read and understand survey plans and drawings.
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software would be considered an asset.
- Excellent field negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Available to travel, evenings and weekends may be necessary.
- Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
- Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
- Provide a 3 year driver abstract with 2 or less minor incidents and no major incidents.
