
Construction - General Foreperson

- Supervise, coordinate, and support site personnel, including forepersons, trades, and subcontractors.
- Plan and assign daily work activities based on project priorities, schedules, and resource availability.
- Monitor overall job site progress and ensure adherence to construction drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Resolve on-site issues, delays, or conflicts in coordination with the site superintendent and project manager.
- Perform site inspections to verify work completion, workmanship, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Review construction drawings and identify any potential design or coordination issues.
- Ensure proper site documentation, including daily logs, progress updates, timekeeping, and material tracking.
- Lead daily safety meetings and enforce site safety requirements, including review of crew Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Coordinate with delivery teams and suppliers to ensure timely arrival of materials and equipment.
- Collaborate with other trades and departments to maintain workflow efficiency and prevent bottlenecks.
- Mentor and support crew development through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Promote a respectful, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of structural, architectural, and civil scopes of work.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and schedules.
- Thorough understanding of Federal and Provincial building codes, safety standards, and construction best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain progress under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in maintaining job site documentation and reporting.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g. CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid) preferred.
- Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms.
- Must be able to climb scaffoldings.
- Possesses and maintains necessary tools, equipment, and protective gear.
- Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with health & safety regulations, procedures and company policies.
- Adheres to project specifications and timelines ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Work in conjunction with crew members to complete field projects or tasks.
- Displays high levels of motivation, energy, and forward-thinking.
