Position: Intermediate Software DeveloperDuration: 1 Year assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Conditions may change based on organizational requirements and at the discretion of the Hiring Manager.About the EngagementAkkodis is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer with strong experience in Java, Oracle, API development, and modern UI frameworks to support enhancements, modernization, and sustainment activities for complex multi-tier applications within the Public Sector. The consultant will participate in analysis, design, development, integration, and troubleshooting efforts supporting mission-critical public health and clinical systems. This role requires extensive technical expertise, strong documentation skills, experience supporting enterprise applications, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including business analysts, program teams, and QA resources.ScopeIdentify, document, develop, and implement system enhancements based on evolving business needs.Design and build new reports and modernize existing applications with current technologies.Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application defects (“bugs”) related to data quality, functionality, or system behaviour.Assist with application packaging and deployments across hosting environments.Assignment DeliverablesUpdated systems documentation and training materialsApplication enhancements and bug fixesAd-hoc and scheduled reportsDeployment instructions and release documentation.Expertise RequiredMust Have:Strong hands-on experience with Java programming on Sun Solaris and Red Hat/Linux environmentsExpertise with WebSphere Liberty/WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere Studio Application DeveloperExperience with web services, OAuth2, IBM Cloud, Node.js, J2EE, API Connect, Kafka, Electron, Spring BootStrong programming experience in Java, Java EE, Java frameworks, Java threading/scheduling, JavaScript, RESTful API development, and Linux shell scriptingSolid experience with Oracle RDBMS (12c) including SQL, PL/SQL, JSON, XML, ETL, stored procedures, data modelling, query optimization, and performance tuningExperience with API testing/management tools such as Postman, SOAPUI, SwingProficiency in UI frameworks such as React, Spring, jQuery, Struts.Experience developing medical or clinical systems.Nice to Have:Familiarity with JIRA issue trackingExperience developing accessible UI components and knowledge of WCAG/W3C accessibility standards.Security ClearanceRequired.ImportantThis is a business-to-business engagement.
